Chef training and hospitality video production project featuring professional filming and editing for talent attraction.

Project Workflow

Dan Sullivan took part in the shoot as producer and filming director, overseeing the on set workflow and conducting interviews with culinary school students on camera.

Filmorite Ltd was responsible for both filming and editing the project. The main objective was to capture a wide range of high-quality slow-motion footage to build a structured B-roll library for the academies. This footage was designed to support the creation of multiple promotional and commercial videos over time.

The production used a multi camera setup. The primary camera was a Sony FX3 paired with a Sony FE 24–70mm f/2.8 GM II lens and an Atomos Ninja 5 inch HDR monitor recorder, which acted as both a monitoring solution and a primary backup recorder. A secondary Sony Alpha ZV E10 was positioned to capture behind the scenes footage throughout the shoot.

For movement-based shots, particularly within the kitchen environment, a Zhi Yun Crane 2S three-axis handheld gimbal was used to ensure smooth and stable footage.

Thanks to the Sony FX3’s strong low-light performance, the kitchen scenes were captured clearly without the need for additional lighting. Slow-motion footage was recorded at 100 frames per second, allowing for detailed close-ups and visually engaging shots.

The Results

Over 6 hours of raw footage were captured during the shoot, with a strong focus on slow-motion sequences. This material was used to create the final video presentation and a flexible library of visual assets.

As part of the hospitality video editing process, several types of short-form content were produced, including:

  • edited student interviews using a dynamic and engaging style

  • short instructional segments delivered by chef tutors

  • individual trainee interviews highlighting personal experiences

These videos were created for social media and ongoing promotional use, supporting talent attraction and brand awareness for the academies.

The first edited video was delivered to Dan on the next business day following the shoot. Feedback from his clients was received the following day, confirming they were very happy with the result.

When I first came across Viktor what I really liked was that before we got started with anything, he was asking me an awful lot of questions about what it was that I needed, the type of content that I was looking for, and I felt like he really took the time to listen to me rather than just try and pitch to me what it is that he's trying to sell. And we first got together to film at Chef Academy for one of my largest clients, a huge hospitality provider in the UK. And I can say that instantly when I saw the results of the interview, not just the production, but the post-production. I was blown away and want to continue to work with Viktor. I couldn't have been happier with the way that Viktor approaches a job, the way that he behaves while he's there, and then the support that he gives me as we're working on post-production following that job. So I do recommend working with Filmorite, and I'm sure that I'm going to be working with them a lot in the coming months.
