Video Production for London Business Podcasts

Client's Vision Riyaz Datoo invited us to film his business podcast, where we captured engaging conversations and key moments. He was excited about the videography process and looked forward to seeing how we would turn the footage into a compelling, well-structured story during the editing stage.

Client's Feedback

Filming process

We met with the client at his home, and after a quick discussion, we decided to film in the living room. I set everything up, and we began filming the podcast. In this case, I worked as both the videographer and, by the client’s request, the host of the podcast. We used a multi-camera setup, with three cameras filming at once to capture dynamic angles.

The task was to film a high-quality video podcast that would engage the audience and reflect the client’s message. I spent about 1 hour preparing for the shoot, and the filming itself took about 2 hours to complete.

Video Editing

Since I filmed the footage for this project, it saved a lot of time in post-production, as I was already familiar with the material.

A draft edit was created from more than 120 GB of multi-camera video footage. It includes:

   •   Cleaning and enhancing the sound quality with the help of AI;
   •   Cutting out all bad takes and filler words;
   •   Implementing camera switching and jump cuts to achieve a more engaging experience for viewers.

As a result, we received a rough version of a 1-hour video, and it was sent to the client along with the full transcription. This was done so that the client could easily find and understand which parts of the video he wouldn't like to have in the final version.

After receiving comments from the client, I started further work:

   •   All the footage was colour-corrected to improve the visual part of the video;
   •   From the B-rolls provided by the client, I chose those that perfectly complement the narrative of the podcast;
   •   To grab viewers' attention from the start, a short dynamic intro was created with the main topics that are revealed in this video.

In general, editing such projects takes on average 5x to 10x times the length of the raw material (if the podcast is 1 hour long, it will take up to 10 hours on average to produce a polished podcast).

With all the edits and back-and-forth, the project was completed in 4 days, 1.5 days of which were spent awaiting comments from the client.

Please note that the time to complete a project depends not only on the speed of the video editor but also on the efficiency in conducting revisions and the clarity of the feedback!

"Honestly, the highlight of my day is watching your work. Out of everything I’m doing, I’m always looking forward to seeing what my producer is coming up with next. You guys just keep exciting me, and that’s what makes working with you so great. If you’re recording this, by the way, you just got an amazing line right there!"
