Project Description

This corporate event video production project covers the YAB (Your Affordable Board) business meeting in Manchester. Filmorite Ltd handled the filming and post production, transforming the event into a versatile collection of professional video content.

The project shows how corporate events can deliver far more than a single highlight video. Filming Setup

For events involving public speaking, such as the YAB meeting, we typically use a three camera filming setup to capture the full experience.

The first camera focuses on the stage and speakers, covering the main presentation area with a wide angle view.
The second camera is positioned to capture the audience from the side of the stage, allowing us to record genuine reactions and engagement.
The third camera is operated freely around the venue, capturing natural interactions, networking moments and cinematic B roll footage, both in real time and slow motion.

This multi camera approach allows greater flexibility during post production and supports stronger visual storytelling.

For audio, we used the Rode Wireless GO II microphone system. A clip microphone was attached to the host to ensure clear speech during presentations, while a handheld microphone was used for participant interviews, capturing questions, comments and personal insights.

Filming Techniques & Methods

To help participants feel relaxed and natural on camera, we used an unobtrusive filming approach. Instead of placing a microphone directly in front of someone’s face, the presenter remained nearby and recorded audio from a comfortable distance. This helps participants feel less pressured, especially those who are not used to being filmed.

At the start of the event, some attendees may feel reserved, but this usually changes within the first thirty minutes as they become accustomed to the presence of the videographer. All participants were informed in advance about filming, and consent was always respected. If anyone felt uncomfortable, filming was paused or avoided entirely.

During breaks and after the event, participants were invited to take part in short interviews. Seeing others share their experiences often encouraged more people to participate, resulting in honest and engaging testimonials.
